[Probability of U.S. Economic Recession Raised by Multiple Institutions]
BlockBeats News, March 26: According to a report by CCTV News, due to the prolonged conflict between the U.S. and Iran adding additional downside risks to the U.S. economy, multiple institutions have recently raised the probability of the U.S. economy falling into a recession.
According to U.S. sources on March 25, Moody's Analytics model shows that the probability of the U.S. economy entering a recession within the next 12 months has risen to 48.6%. Goldman Sachs has increased its forecast for this probability to 30%. Wilmington Trust and Ernst & Young-Parthenon respectively estimate the probability of a U.S. economic recession at 45% and 40%. Under normal circumstances, this probability should be around 20%.
Mark Zandi, Chief Economist at Moody's Analytics, stated that the concerning issue is that the risk of recession is "uncomfortably high and continues to rise," making economic recession a real threat. If the current high oil prices persist until late May or the end of the second quarter, "the U.S. economy will fall into a recession."
