[UK Media: Iran Prefers Negotiations with Vance, Accuses Trump’s Son-in-Law and Others of 'Betrayal']
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on March 25, according to the UK’s *Daily Telegraph*, Iran has refused to negotiate with U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs Witekov and Trump’s son-in-law Kushner, accusing them of 'betrayal.' Gulf sources stated that Iran will not sit down with Witekov and Kushner because Tehran suffered a military strike just hours after their February talks.
U.S. Vice President Vance has remained largely silent during this conflict. If negotiations are restarted later this week in Islamabad, Pakistan, Vance is seen as the leading candidate to head the talks. 'Vance is the preferred choice,' a Gulf source said when discussing Iran’s stance. 'They don’t want to work with Kushner and Witekov because they are untrustworthy.'
Sources indicate that Iran believes Vance will honor commitments, and his involvement is seen as an appropriate level for negotiations with Iranian Parliament Speaker Qalibaf. The vice president may take over as the new head of the U.S. negotiating team, signaling the White House’s intent to avoid further economic losses and de-escalate tensions, though the strategy to end the war remains unclear.
