[U.S. SEC Submits Digital Asset and Hedge Fund Disclosure Rules to White House, Proposes 'Innovation Exemption'] BlockBeats News, March 23, according to Bloomberg, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has submitted two new proposed rules to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review, addressing digital assets as well as disclosure requirements for hedge funds and private equity firms. The proposals were submitted on March 20 and made public on Monday. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins previewed the digital asset proposal last week, which includes an 'innovation exemption' allowing digital asset companies to be temporarily exempt from registering as brokers, exchanges, or other regulated entities. Another rule involves significant adjustments to Form PF, which hedge funds and private equity funds use to report performance and risk metrics. Atkins had previously delayed the effective date of the new Form PF disclosure requirements, introduced during Gary Gensler's tenure, to October 1, and stated that methods to reduce the disclosure burden would be explored.
