Fidelity Investments has recommended to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to improve the regulatory framework for broker dealers to provide, custody, and trade cryptocurrency assets on alternative trading systems (ATS). Fidelity emphasizes the importance of developing a comprehensive regulatory framework and clear rules for trading tokenized securities, including rules for trading third-party issued tokenized securities, and suggests bridging the regulatory gap between centralized and decentralized trading systems. At the same time, guidance will be issued to allow brokerage traders to use distributed ledger technology for record keeping.
