[Journalist Receives Death Threats from Polymarket Bettors Over Report on Iranian Missile Strike]
According to The Block, *The Times of Israel* military journalist Emanuel Fabian revealed that he received death threats from Polymarket bettors due to a report about an Iranian missile strike. On March 10, Fabian reported that an Iranian missile struck an open area near Beit Shemesh, Israel. On Polymarket, a prediction market contract titled 'Will Iran attack Israel on a certain day?' had over $14 million in bets. According to the rules, if the missile was intercepted, the outcome would not trigger a 'Yes' result. Fabian stated that he received dozens of threatening emails, social media messages, and WhatsApp texts, with some demanding he alter the report to claim the missile was intercepted, or they would 'take him out.' Fabian refused to amend the report, stating it was based on information from Israeli rescue services and the military, and he has filed a police report. Polymarket stated that it has banned the related accounts and will cooperate with law enforcement.
