Brian Armstrong @brian_armstrong posted a tweet yesterday that got 18,000 likes:
The number of AI agents will soon surpass human traders. They can’t open bank accounts, but they can have a crypto wallet.
I can totally feel this. Recently, I ran an agent using OpenClaw to help me with on-chain operations. Connected it to the OKX Web3 Wallet’s MCP, and it could check balances, check prices, and sign transactions all by itself. No KYC, no API application process—the wallet address is its identity. @okxchinese
Think about the traditional finance process: agents don’t have passports or proof of address, and every step of opening a bank account is designed for humans. On-chain, this isn’t an issue. As long as you have a private key, you can operate.
Pantera also shared a similar view last week, saying crypto is the natural financial infrastructure for AI agents. This narrative is shifting from a concept to an industry consensus.
What I’m really curious about now is, when there are millions of agents running on-chain in the future, will gas wars be even crazier than the 2021 NFT wave?
