SAUDI ARABIA SHUTS DOWN OILFIELDS AMID HORMUZ DISRUPTION
Saudi Arabia has begun shutting down several oilfields as disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz limit exports and force the kingdom to reroute crude shipments.
Major offshore fields, including Safaniya and Zuluf, have been preemptively closed, while production at other sites has been reduced, according to officials familiar with the situation. The cuts could lower output by more than 2 million barrels per day, though exports have not yet been affected.
Saudi Arabia is redirecting more oil through its west-east pipeline to the Red Sea, issuing tenders for over 4 million barrels and increasing shipments from overseas storage to keep supplies flowing.(*Walter Bloomberg)
