[Supreme Court Report: Clarification that activating assisted driving while intoxicated entails criminal liability] The second plenary session of the 14th National People's Congress was held on the morning of the 9th at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where Zhang Jun, President of the Supreme People's Court, delivered the Supreme People's Court Work Report. The report shows that over the past five years, 9,326 cases involving crimes endangering cybersecurity were concluded, involving 22,000 individuals, an increase of 158.5% (in case numbers) compared to the previous five years. Crimes such as online rumors, pyramid schemes, and cyber violence were punished according to the law, promoting comprehensive governance of cyberspace security. Two young individuals maliciously engaged in "human flesh search" to illegally obtain and disseminate others' private information and were convicted and sentenced according to the law. Severe punishment was imposed on crimes such as money laundering and evasion of foreign exchange using virtual currencies as a medium, with efforts to prevent illegal cross-border fund transfers. It was clarified that drivers who activate assisted driving functions while intoxicated must still bear criminal liability, as the application of technology must adhere to legal boundaries.
