Microsoft has launched its own AI agent, Copilot Tasks, marking an important step in its move into 'Agentic AI.' Finally, it’s catching up with companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. However, for now, it’s only available to a limited number of users, and you’ll need to join the waitlist to test it. Judging by Nadella’s tweet demo, Copilot Tasks seems to be deeply integrated with Microsoft 365, capable of operating Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and more to handle complex multi-step tasks (breaking down steps → planning → executing → reporting), emphasizing 'from answering to action.' It looks like Microsoft’s version of an 'autonomous AI digital worker' for everyday users and office scenarios, upgrading Copilot from a 'chat assistant' to an 'agent that can actually get work done for us.' Last week, we talked about Microsoft’s dynamic P/E ratio, which had already returned to its lowest point in the past decade, entering a value-for-money range. The launch of Copilot Tasks makes this value-for-money proposition even more compelling. This year, big tech companies are all accelerating the adoption of AI agents, especially in office and productivity scenarios, which are key focus areas for everyone. And when it comes to office productivity, Microsoft has the biggest advantage.
