Bitwise Chief Investment Officer: On chain financial transformation may accelerate

Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer of Bitwise Asset Management, stated that during the US Israel attack on Iran, investors flocked to cryptocurrency platforms such as Hyperliquid to trade tokenized assets, which led him to anticipate the timing of the on chain financial explosion in advance. Hougan pointed out that during the attack, traditional stock markets were closed, while Hyperliquid became a trading center for real-world assets such as crude oil and tokenized gold, with weekend trading volumes exceeding $11.5 billion. He believes that the 24/7 trading mechanism of blockchain makes traditional stock exchanges and T+1 settlement systems appear outdated, and expects that the time for traditional markets to be fully on chain will be faster than originally expected.
