The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held a collective meeting on Monday, requiring leveraged ETF issuers to suspend the promotion of a new round of fund plans and restrict the structure of aggressive fund products. According to six insiders, the SEC Investment Management Department made the above request during a brief call with independent trustees and fund legal advisors, which lasted only a few minutes and did not include a Q&A session. The SEC has explicitly stated that each issuer shall not put the proposed product online, which is a crucial step in completing fund registration and formal issuance.
