**[U.S. Judge Rejects Binance Arbitration Request, Users Can File Lawsuits Over Certain Token Claims Before 2019]**
BlockBeats News, February 27, according to Reuters, U.S. Manhattan federal judge Andrew Carter has rejected Binance's request to resolve claims through arbitration. The claims allege that the exchange platform illegally sold unregistered tokens and caused significant losses to customers.
Manhattan U.S. District Court Judge Andrew Carter stated that customers can file lawsuits in court for claims arising before February 20, 2019, as Binance failed to adequately notify users of its updated terms of use, which required disputes to be resolved through arbitration and waived the right to file class-action lawsuits.
In response to Judge Carter's ruling, a Binance spokesperson stated: "Binance will actively defend the remaining limited claims in this case, as these claims are completely unfounded." Customers who suffered losses due to ELF, EOS, FUN, ICX, OMG, QSP, and TRX tokens accuse Binance of failing to warn buyers of "significant risks" as required by federal and state securities laws and are seeking to recover the amounts paid.
