[JPMorgan CEO Says Current U.S. Financial Industry Resembles Pre-2008 Financial Crisis] According to a report by Jinse Finance, when asked about the intense competition in the U.S. financial industry, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon stated that he is beginning to see similarities to the years leading up to the 2008 financial crisis, when a lending frenzy ultimately ended in catastrophic results. 'Unfortunately, we saw almost the same situation in 2005, 2006, and 2007—rising tides lifting all boats, and everyone making a lot of money,' Dimon told investors on Monday. He noted that while JPMorgan Chase is unwilling to engage in riskier lending to boost net interest income, 'I see some people doing foolish things. They are doing stupid things just to generate net interest income.'
