Hong Kong cryptocurrency company employee arrested for stealing over HKD 20 million USDT from customers

A Hong Kong investment company that provides cryptocurrency trading services has reported about 20 clients losing 2.67 million USDT, with a total loss of approximately HKD 20.87 million. After investigation by the police, a 34 year old network engineer surnamed Cai from the company was arrested yesterday. He is suspected of using his position to access the company's database without authorization, query customer account information, and steal encrypted assets. At present, the case is being taken over by the 9th Criminal Investigation Team of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Hong Kong, and several police officers have gone to the company to collect evidence.
