The AMLBot report shows that approximately two-thirds of cryptocurrency security incidents by 2025 will be driven by social engineering rather than technological vulnerabilities. 65% of the cases reviewed last year involved access and response failures, including device damage, weak verification, and detection delays. Investment fraud accounts for the highest proportion of fraud cases, at 25%; Phishing accounts for 18% and device damage accounts for 13%. In the past three months, attacks related to identity impersonation have caused at least $9 million in digital asset losses. Slava Demchuk, CEO of AMLBot, pointed out that impersonation is the most destructive means of social engineering fraud, and users need to be alert to urgent requests involving fund transfers or wallet access.
