Oleg Ogienko, the head of regulatory and overseas affairs for ruble anchored stablecoin issuer A7A5, stated that the company's operations fully comply with local regulations and international anti money laundering standards in Kyrgyzstan, and denies any illegal activities. Despite the fact that the issuing entity and reserve bank have been included in the sanctions list by the US Treasury Department, A7A5 is still promoting business expansion with the goal of becoming a cross-border trade settlement channel. Its stablecoins mainly serve trading enterprises in Asia, Africa, South America, and Russia, providing cross-border payment solutions. The circulation scale of A7A5 increased by about 90 billion US dollars last year, with a growth rate exceeding that of USDT and USDC. Industry analysis suggests that the demand for alternative settlements in a sanctioned environment is driving its growth, but related entities still face compliance and geopolitical risks under sanctions.
