According to the Financial Times, US President Trump plans to reduce some tariffs on steel and aluminum products in response to the "affordability crisis". Last summer, the United States imposed tariffs of up to 50% on steel and aluminum products, and expanded them to include metal products such as washing machines and ovens. Three insiders revealed that the Trump administration is reviewing the list of products affected by tariffs, intending to exempt some goods from tariffs and stop expanding the scope of taxation, instead conducting national security investigations on specific products. The US Department of Commerce and trade officials believe that these tariffs have increased the prices of goods such as pallets, food and beverage cans, and harmed consumers. The UK, Mexico, Canada, and EU member states may benefit from tariff easing.
