Federal Reserve Governor Milan said on Wednesday that he would be "very willing" to stay at the Fed for the long term if asked, but the decision-making power is not in his hands. Milan's term in office has expired, making it the only position for President Trump to nominate former Federal Reserve Governor Walsh. Federal Reserve Chairman Powell has not yet indicated whether he will resign from his position as a board member when his term expires in mid May. Milan said that the subsequent development depends on whether there are vacant seats, the choice of the president, and the confirmation decision of the Senate.
