An anti fraud phone call, carefully considering the terrifying details
In the morning, while chatting with a friend, he mentioned that another mutual friend had encountered a scam app in the cryptocurrency industry
Out of curiosity, I used the built-in camera on my iPhone, scanned the QR code, and accessed the download page of this app. The app was not listed on the App Store and was distributed through enterprise level distribution. The layout and data of the highly visited App Store on the page are all fake.
As shown in the picture, the name of this app is OKG, and its logo is exactly the same as @ okxchinese. Scammers use the same logo and similar names to create confusion. I immediately noticed something was wrong and closed the page.
Half an hour later, 96110 called. I had already forgotten about accessing the app download page at that time. I didn't want to answer the phone, so I hung up. If the other party hits again, I will blacklist 96110.
After another 45 minutes, the police at the police station changed their landline and called me. I thought it was a regular phone call, so I answered it. The other party asked me why I blacklisted 96110 and whether I had been scammed by Macau XX for money or any other verification. I just remembered that it was because I scanned the code to access the page of that scam app.
What does this mean? The domain name of the fraudulent app has long been under the monitoring of the anti fraud center. Every daily visit, including exchanges, wallets, and Pornhub, cannot escape scrutiny.
There is currently an anti fraud center, but there is no "anti pornography center" or "anti coin center" yet, it's just a matter of timing/ROI.
