CZ guest on All In podcast: From working at McDonald's to building a crypto empire, AI+crypto has great potential in the future
According to BlockBeats, on February 11th, Binance founder CZ recently participated in an interview with Chamath Palihapitiya on the All In podcast. This was a detailed long interview (about 2 hours) after his release from prison, which was released on February 10, 2026. The interview title is "CZ's Untold Story: The Rise, Underestimation, and Redemption of Binance Founder", covering his immigration background, founding Binance, FTX events, prison experiences, and reflections after his release from prison.
When sharing early experiences, CZ said, "My first job was working at McDonald's when I was about 14 years old. At that time, the minimum wage in British Columbia was $6 per hour, while McDonald's only paid $5.5 per hour due to special exemptions
When it comes to the busy work after his comeback, CZ said that he currently has over 20 scheduled meetings or calls every day, as well as handling some temporary tasks and social media replies. Despite being very busy, these tasks are very meaningful. This sense of achievement has nothing to do with money or business growth and is difficult to describe in words.
When discussing their old rival SBF, CZ stated that they first encountered SBF at the 2019 Singapore conference. At that time, FTX proposed to establish a joint venture (JV), but was initially rejected. A subsequent proposal led to Binance's investment in purchasing a 20% stake in FTX. During this process, some issues arose, including maliciously belittling and poaching employees, and investors who withdrew from the investment in July 2021 and were not deeply involved themselves. At present, there are still relevant lawsuits in progress, and the bankruptcy proceedings and compensation situation of FTX are not clear.
The current global investment landscape has undergone significant changes under the impact of AI, and CZ stated that "AI may become an important user of cryptocurrencies in the future. Millions of AI agents can run in the background, conducting fund transactions for various tasks such as paying for podcasts, booking restaurants and hotels. The traditional banking system cannot support the high-frequency and high-value transactions conducted by these agents. AI agents may handle investments and transactions. Bitcoin and most cryptocurrencies lack privacy features because transactions on the blockchain can be traced. Overall, the encryption industry needs to focus on enhancing privacy features, but currently, the market value of privacy focused currencies is generally small. ''
In this interview, CZ positioned himself as an "ordinary person" and emphasized hard work and luck. Chamath also asked friendly questions and did not delve into recent FUD and controversial issues.
