The President of the European Commission, von der Leyen, announced on February 6 local time that the European Commission had proposed the 20th round of sanctions against Russia, involving energy, financial services and trade. The plan includes implementing a comprehensive ban on offshore services for Russian crude oil and suggesting coordination with the G7 for implementation. 43 oil tankers have been added to the "Shadow Fleet" list, bringing the total to 640. Maintenance services for Russian liquefied natural gas carriers and icebreakers are also prohibited. 20 Russian regional banks have been added to the sanctions list, and measures have been taken against companies and platforms related to cryptocurrency trading. In addition, the plan introduces anti circumvention tools for the first time and proposes to strengthen legal protection for EU enterprises.
