Patrick Witt, Executive Director of the US Presidential Advisory Council on Digital Assets, stated that the White House will not accept provisions in the cryptocurrency market structure legislation that target President Trump or his family's digital asset business, and will mark the relevant content as a "red line". Witt stated that the anti-corruption or ethical provisions proposed by some Democratic lawmakers are unacceptable, and emphasized that the core of the bill is cryptocurrency market regulation rather than ethical review. He hopes that the Democratic Party can propose a more reasonable version to promote legislative progress, while pointing out that the demand to restrict the participation of senior government officials and their families in the cryptocurrency industry is still one of the legislative obstacles.
