South Korea is both an esports powerhouse and a crypto powerhouse
The overlap between esports fans and users open to web3 is pretty high. If these international tournaments could integrate with WB3, it might attract a lot of web2 users and inject fresh blood into the community.
The South Korean government and chaebols are frequently in contact with the Beijing Olympic Committee, aiming to host the first official Olympic Esports Games. Traditional Olympics are facing declining viewership and high event hosting costs.
Esports is a blue ocean market with unlimited potential. Every country has class solidification issues, and platforms like TikTok with short videos and games act as 'entertainment pacifiers' to provide people with low-cost happiness.
Copycat projects have already been debunked. Only things like stablecoins, RWA, and Polymarket—those that break crypto-native applications into the mainstream and bring traditional users onboard—have a chance. People might not speculate on your token, but your application must have users.
Is there any other industry that can acquire users as cheaply as the crypto space? A bunch of airdrop hunters and $100 warriors, using crypto-native applications to acquire users at low cost, then heading to the U.S. stock market for funding or to places with better liquidity—that’s the right move!
