Trump talks about 'technical shutdown' of government departments: detrimental to the United States, hopes to resolve it as soon as possible

On January 31st local time, US President Trump stated that the "technical shutdown" of multiple federal government departments is detrimental to the country and hopes that "enough people will use their brains" to end the partial government shutdown as soon as possible. During an interview, Trump mentioned the issue of government funding and stated that the situation is improving. He also mentioned that the previous shutdown had caused a 1.5 percentage point loss in the US Gross Domestic Product (GDP). He believes that Democrats do not want similar situations to happen because it would be detrimental to their image.
