Six Democratic senators have accused US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche of violating federal conflict of interest laws by issuing a policy memorandum relaxing regulation of the cryptocurrency industry while holding approximately $158000 to $470000 in cryptocurrency assets. The senator cited Section 208 (a) of Title 18 of the United States Code, stating that administrative officials shall not participate in decisions that may affect their personal financial interests, and requested Blanche to recuse himself from such decisions.
