[Federal Reserve Chair Top Contender Rick Rieder Has Long Supported Trump’s Political Opponents]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that BlackRock executive Rick Rieder is currently one of the top contenders to take over the Federal Reserve. However, his past financial support for Trump’s main political opponents and senior Democratic figures could become a potential variable in Trump’s decision to appoint him, given Trump’s emphasis on the “loyalty” of his subordinates. According to Polymarket data, Rick Rieder has a 32% probability of being nominated by Trump. Federal Election Commission (FEC) data shows that Rick Rieder has a history of bipartisan donations, having supported Democrats Pete Buttigieg and Cory Booker in 2020 and Jeb Bush in 2016. Notably, he has never provided financial support to Trump in the 2016, 2020, or 2024 elections. FEC records also reveal that Rick Rieder’s donation recipients include senior Democrats such as Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Mark Warner, as well as Republican establishment figures like Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. His political donation history dates back to 2005, with his largest contribution since the 2020 election being a $15,825 donation in December 2023 to a group supporting Nikki Haley. Rick Rieder and BlackRock representatives declined to comment on the matter. (Jin10)
