The number of Solana verification nodes has fallen below 800, hitting a new low since 2021

Solana's daily verification node count has dropped to below 800, the lowest level since 2021, a decrease of over 65% compared to the peak of around 2500 at the beginning of 2023. The reduction in the number of verification nodes, which serve as independent nodes for running Solana software, verifying transactions, and generating blocks, has resulted in a decrease in the number of voting transactions used to confirm blocks from approximately 300000 per day to 170000 per day. However, the non voting transaction volume remains at a level of approximately 100 million transactions per day.
