On January 22, 2026, the People's Bank of China held the 2026 Anti Money Laundering Work Conference, proposing five key tasks: promoting strict governance of the Party in anti money laundering lines, conducting the fifth round of international anti money laundering assessments, promoting the implementation of the newly revised Anti Money Laundering Law of the People's Republic of China, enhancing the regulatory capabilities of financial institutions and specific non-financial institutions, and establishing a normalized mechanism to combat money laundering crimes.
