The Chinese victim of the Qian Zhimin case may find it difficult to obtain high compensation through the skyrocketing price of Bitcoin

The hearing for the civil recovery case of Qian Zhimin's Bitcoin was held this week. Judge Turner pointed out that if the legal team advances the lawsuit based on similar legal issues, it will lead to a delay in the process and an increase in legal fees, which may erode the part of the victim's asset recovery. The British prosecutor suggests reserving assets in civil recovery procedures for compensating Chinese victims, and coordinating with Chinese and British law enforcement agencies to transfer them to the Chinese government for implementation of the compensation plan. The prosecutor believes that the possibility of Chinese victims receiving high compensation through the skyrocketing price of Bitcoin is unrealistic, and the compensation amount may be limited to the actual losses confirmed by the police.
