The Gwangju District Prosecutor's Office in South Korea suspects that Bitcoin seized and stored in a criminal case has gone missing. The specific quantity has not been announced, but its value may be as high as about 70 billion Korean won. During routine checks on Bitcoin related passwords stored on mobile storage devices (USB drives), the prosecutor suspected that they had accessed a "fake website" and discovered abnormalities. At present, the prosecutor has initiated an internal investigation. A prosecutor official stated that the incident occurred during a routine inspection of seized Bitcoin, but did not further confirm the relevant details.
