The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has listed Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange WhiteBit as an unwelcome organization, citing that the platform is being used to illegally transfer funds out of Russia, including funding Ukrainian armed forces. WhiteBit's parent company W Group and all its affiliates and subsidiaries are also included in the list. It is reported that since 2022, WhiteBit management has transferred approximately $11 million to the Ukrainian military, of which approximately $900000 is used to purchase drones and provide technical support for the United24 encrypted donation platform. The Russian central bank plans to hold cryptocurrency intermediaries accountable for their illegal activities starting from July 1, 2027, and currently there are no cryptocurrency exchanges registered in Russia.
