Just finished watching Davos 2026 and Yuval Noah Harari's speech. Once again, he laid out the fundamental challenges AI poses to humanity right on the table. He raised four core questions that directly address the survival of human agency in the future: 1. AI is shifting from a 'tool' to an 'autonomous agent.' All tools in the past required humans to control their goals and actions, but now AI can set its own goals, make its own decisions, and execute them independently. For the first time, humans have truly lost ultimate control over their 'tools.' This isn’t sci-fi—it’s already happening. 2. The authority of language and thought is shifting. If thinking is essentially the arrangement of words, AI has already surpassed the vast majority of humans. It has read all of humanity’s classics, laws, and philosophies, becoming the ultimate interpreter of these textual systems. In the future, the ones interpreting constitutions or defining justice may no longer be humans, but AI. 3. Humans are regressing from narrative protagonists to 'observers.' AI is starting to name us, calling humans 'Watchers.' As AI takes over language production, we gradually shift from being the protagonists of stories to mere spectators. Our agency is quietly slipping away. 4. Non-verbal experiences are becoming the last line of defense. Pain, fear, love, emotions—these sensory and internal experiences are things AI currently cannot truly replicate. Harari believes that humanity once ruled the world through the combination of 'language ability + sensory experience.' Now that language is being challenged by AI, sensory experience has become humanity’s last unique value. The core of his speech isn’t about 'whether AI will replace jobs,' but rather 'whether humanity can continue to maintain its agency.' Harari himself leans toward Elon Musk’s optimistic path: if we take the right steps, AI could lead to a sustainable and prosperous society, rather than a dystopia. I’ve recently invested in some AI projects, and my biggest takeaway is this: it’s not about replacing anyone, but about redefining 'who is the agent.' AI is the next agent revolution, and we must actively participate in it with clarity, rather than passively wait. Where do you want to stand in the future? Will you be a definer of AI narratives, or just a spectator? Rational discussions and exchanges of views are welcome. #AI #Future #Harari #Davos2026
