The United States officially withdraws from the World Health Organization

US President Trump signed an executive order on January 20 last year announcing the US withdrawal from the World Health Organization, and the United Nations received the relevant notification on January 22 of the same year. According to the Constitution of the World Health Organization, member states must submit a withdrawal application for one year before they can officially withdraw. Today, the United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization after one year of submitting its withdrawal application. WHO spokesperson Lindmayer previously stated that the United States has the right to withdraw, but needs to settle its outstanding membership fees. Currently, it has not paid the total of approximately $260 million due for 2024 and 2025.
