Former CEO of Alameda Research, Caroline Ellison, was released today

On January 21st, according to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Caroline Ellison, former co CEO of Alameda Research, will be released from federal prison today. Caroline Ellison was previously transferred from a Connecticut prison to community custody in October 2025. On December 20, 2025, the US SEC issued a lawsuit notice stating that former CEO Sam Bankman Fried is still serving a sentence in federal prison for fraud, while executives such as Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, have agreed to a settlement agreement that still requires court approval. Other executives who signed the settlement agreement include Zixiao Wang, former Chief Technology Officer of FTX Trading, and Nishad Singh, former Co Chief Engineer of FTX.
