Security researcher Andrey Sergeenkov stated that the recent surge in transaction and address activity on Ethereum may be related to large-scale address poisoning attacks in low gas fee environments. Attackers carry out 'dust attacks' by forging similar addresses, inducing users to transfer funds to the wrong address. After Fusaka upgrade, transaction costs decreased by over 60%, significantly reducing the implementation cost of such attacks. Research shows that over 116000 people have been victimized, with cumulative losses exceeding $740000.
