Trade analysts warn that if Trump imposes individual tariffs on Denmark, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, and the United Kingdom, European companies may face significant administrative burdens. Sam Lowe, the head of trade at Flint Global, stated that although six of these countries are members of the European Union and their trade agreements are collectively negotiated by the EU, it is technically possible for the United States to impose separate taxes on exporters from these countries, and there are precedents for the United States to impose taxes on individual member states.
