A mailing list unearthed Bitcoin Before Bitcoin came into existence, there was a mailing list. Cypherpunks didn’t hold consensus conferences, didn’t talk about changing the world, they just kept discussing one thing: How to survive without trusting anyone. They didn’t trust governments, didn’t trust banks, and didn’t believe in 'things will get better someday.' So they wrote code. In 2008, the Bitcoin whitepaper wasn’t sent to the media, wasn’t pitched to VCs, it was dropped into a cryptography mailing list. That wasn’t a launch, it was a homecoming. Bitcoin isn’t innovation, it’s execution. It’s not a narrative, it’s a conclusion. When you run a full node, you’re not just supporting the network, you’re carrying on the obsession of that group of people: No asking for permission No relying on trust No need to be understood The mailing list has long been gone, but Bitcoin is still producing blocks. And that’s enough.
