Fidelity Digital Assets states that digital assets are transforming into a structured financial layer

Chris Kuiper, Vice President of Research at Fidelity Digital Assets, stated that digital assets are transitioning from niche experiments to irreversible structured financial layers. He believes that 2026 may become a year of wider market attention to digital assets, and compares this transformation to the "container moment" of standardized metal containers changing global trade. According to a research report by Fidelity, despite the lackluster price performance in 2025, the industry has quietly reshaped in terms of infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and institutional workflows, laying the foundation for a breakthrough in 2026. Kuiper added that last year major banks announced plans to establish capabilities in the digital asset field and believed that 2025 marked the first time the market stopped claiming that Bitcoin was "dead".
