Immunefi: Nearly 80% of hacked encryption projects have not been fully restored

Mitchell Amador, CEO of Immunefi, a Web3 security platform, stated that nearly 80% of encryption projects that have suffered major hacker attacks have not been fully recovered, mainly due to operational and trust crashes rather than financial losses. Data shows that the total losses from encryption related hacking attacks in 2025 reached $3.4 billion, the highest level since 2022, with three incidents including Bybit's $1.4 billion hacking attack accounting for 69% of all losses as of early December.
