Sei Labs announced that the SIP-3 upgrade is expected to be completed by mid year and will drive the release of Sei Giga

Jay, co-founder of Sei Labs, stated that the team is preparing for the release of Sei Giga and will make a significant announcement soon. The SIP-3 upgrade of the Sei network is the final technical obstacle before the release of the Sei Giga, with the goal of transitioning Sei from a dual architecture (EVM+Cosmos) to a pure EVM chain, which requires the removal of hundreds of thousands of lines of code. It is expected that by mid-2026, Sei will become a pure EVM chain, which will only support transactions initiated by EVM addresses. After SIP-3 is completed, Sei Giga will become the team's next focus.
