CFTC establishes Cryptocurrency and AI Advisory Committee, attracting multiple cryptocurrency and traditional finance executives

On January 13th, Rostin Behnam, Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), announced the establishment of an Innovation Advisory Committee aimed at providing guidance for the regulation of emerging technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence. The new committee will replace the original Technical Advisory Committee and involve opinion leaders in the cryptocurrency industry and executives from traditional financial institutions in the regulatory process. The founding members include Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss, Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan, Kalshi founder Tarek Mansour, Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek, Kraken co-founder Arjun Sethi, as well as ICE CEO Jeff Sprecher, Cboe CEO David Howson, and Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman.
