Vitalik: Ethereum needs to have long-term self running capability
AiCoin|1月 12, 2026 08:16
On January 12th, Vitalik, the founder of Ethereum, stated in a post that the Ethereum network needs to pass the "Walkaway Test", which means it can continue to operate in a long-term, secure, and decentralized manner without continuous core development or maintenance. He proposed that Ethereum should become the infrastructure for trustless applications, and the underlying protocol should have long-term availability rather than relying on continuous upgrades. Vitalik listed key goals, including quantum resistance, sustainable scalability architecture, long-term state architecture, universal account model, secure gas pricing system, decentralized PoS economic model, and anti censorship block construction mechanism. He emphasized the need to systematically complete the above-mentioned projects to ensure the long-term resilience of Ethereum technology and society.
