Checked out some new data on Alpha.
Looking at it by calendar month:
The total number of airdrops in November and December was 32 and 31, respectively. On the surface, it seems similar, basically maintaining one airdrop per day.
But if you exclude secondary Alpha airdrops, the number of unique projects is actually decreasing month by month. In December, there were only 21 unique project airdrops in total.
So if you only look at the metric of 'unique airdrops,' the actual idle time for everyone is much more than expected. This is because the profits from secondary airdrop projects are generally locked in. In the past, it might have been 50u, but now it’s basically a stable value of 30u.
After mid-to-late December, the issue of project scarcity gradually became apparent. The profit peak in August and September coincidentally aligns with the time most people joined.
As for what’s next, I still hold the same view as before: things will pick up after the New Year, but before that, it’ll probably just stay like this.
