The Fed's rate cuts in 2025 were a failure, and it's expected to continue cutting rates in 2026!
Below is the chart of the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield. The blue arrows mark the Fed's 25bp rate cut time points in September, October, and December 2025.
You'll notice that after the rate cuts, the yield continued to fluctuate, and even after the most recent December rate cut, the overall interest rate was higher than the rate at the September rate cut starting point.
So, Trump's strategic goal of reducing the burden of national debt interest through rate cuts has completely failed. Therefore, I'm quite optimistic about further rate cuts in 2026.
