Bitcoin mining company Cipher Mining announced the acquisition of a 200MW power and data center site called 'Ulysses' in Ohio, USA. This marks their first expansion outside of Texas and entry into PJM, the largest wholesale electricity market in the U.S. The site is expected to be operational by Q4 2027. Cipher stated that in addition to Bitcoin mining, the facility will also support high-performance computing and data center operations to meet the strong demand from hyperscale cloud providers like AWS and Google Cloud.
