A research report shows that German car exports to the U.S. will drop significantly by nearly 14% in the first three quarters of 2025, making it the German industry most severely impacted by U.S. President Trump's trade war. IW research indicates that German engineering firms' exports to the U.S. during the same period fell by 9.5%, with machinery exports subject to a 50% tariff; chemical industry exports to the U.S. dropped by 9.5%. Overall, German exports to the U.S. in the first three quarters decreased by 7.8% year-on-year.
