[Microsoft, Google, and 24 Other Companies Join the U.S. Artificial Intelligence 'Genesis Mission']
According to a report by Jinse Finance, 24 leading artificial intelligence companies have signed on to join the U.S. government's 'Genesis Mission,' an initiative by the Trump administration to leverage emerging AI technologies for scientific discovery and energy projects. According to a White House statement, companies such as OpenAI, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Alphabet have either signed memorandums of understanding with the government, are collaborating on existing projects with the Department of Energy and national laboratories, or have expressed interest in participating in the initiative. Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, stated: 'The Genesis Mission will help American scientists automate experimental design, accelerate simulation computations, and generate predictive models that can drive breakthroughs in energy, manufacturing, pharmaceutical development, and other fields.'
Last month, Trump announced the launch of the initiative via executive order, aiming to better coordinate research efforts across government agencies and more effectively integrate AI tools to achieve scientific breakthroughs. At the time, Kratsios noted that the mission would utilize the computational resources of the Department of Energy's national laboratories, leverage federal datasets, and promote more AI-driven experiments, predicting that this effort would shorten the timeline for scientific discoveries.
