The stablecoin issuer Tether's plan to fully acquire the Italian football club Juventus has been rejected. Juventus' largest shareholder, Exor, a holding company controlled by the Agnelli family, unanimously declined Tether's cash acquisition offer, clearly stating that they have 'no intention of selling Juventus shares to any third party,' including Tether. Previously, Tether announced its intention to acquire Exor's 65.4% stake in Juventus and stated that if the deal went through, they would invest an additional $1 billion to support the club's development. Tether currently holds approximately 10%–11.53% of Juventus shares, making it the second-largest shareholder.
