[Celo Plans to Upgrade Token Economic Model and Open for Public Feedback, Proposes Introducing Buyback and Burn Mechanism]
Foresight News reports that Rene, the chairman of the Celo Foundation, announced plans to upgrade the CELO token economic model, considering the introduction of a token buyback and burn mechanism to improve the long-term economic framework. He stated that with the growth of network activity, the current model needs to be redesigned to better accommodate the increasing demand for transaction fees.
The upgrade process will be carried out in four phases: first, public feedback will be solicited on the Celo forum; in the coming weeks, researchers, token economists, and ecosystem contributors will be invited to participate; this will be followed by research and modeling; the third phase will involve community review; and finally, the process will be completed through governance procedures.
The entire process will be advanced in a fast-paced, transparent, and community-driven manner, led by the Celo Foundation and cLabs.
