Let’s quickly talk about the intricate connection between yesterday’s Madhugiri hard fork by @0xPolygon and Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade:
The Madhugiri hard fork is one of the most significant upgrades since Polygon’s mainnet launch. As a sidechain of Ethereum @ethereum, this hard fork is a follow-up upgrade to the Fusaka upgrade.
It adopted several EIPs from the Fusaka upgrade while also implementing its own PIP-74 (including StateSync transactions in the block body) and PIP-75 (adjusting consensus time to 1 second), boosting network throughput by about 33%.
After Polygon repositioned the chain as a payment infra, daily payment transaction volume hit a new high of nearly $100 million on December 8. The TPS improvement from the Madhugiri upgrade provides better infra for high-frequency payment scenarios.
Funds are also pouring into the chain like crazy, with a net inflow of $78 million over the past 7 days, even surpassing Hyperliquid to take the top spot.
In a way, Polygon’s strategic positioning is relatively successful among the veteran public chains.
